About Tammy

Tammy (that's me!) is a creative, energetic person who, like many coaches, stumbled into the profession after spending time in Corporate America. My interests in time management and goal setting stem from my experience and efforts in those areas. I graduated summa cum laude (B.A. in Business Administration) from Trinity International University in 2002, after attending school and working full time for seven years. This challenge finely honed my time management and organizational skills, albeit in a slightly off-kilter manner because of my right-brained creativity and love of just slightly breaking the rules.   My Glam Shot... not!

I worked at various positions in the corporate world from 1992-2005, including the following;

  • Jack-of-all-trades in an internal printing department, where I operated photocopiers, printing presses, and various paper assembly and collating machines
  • Statistical clerk for personal lines of insurance company
  • COBOL programmer
  • Web designer for company's internal and external websites

The interesting thing about this is that all of the above jobs were with the same company! Obviously, my Renaissance Mind wouldn't let me stay put for too long in one area.

My love of motivational psychology and inspiring others led me to the field of coaching in 2005. I'm a Certified Empowerment Coach through iPEC coaching school, a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), and also a member of the Chicago Coach Federation (CCF) where I serve on the Board as Marketing Co-Chair. I earned my Associate Certified Coach (ACC) designation from the ICF in May, 2007.

My coaching is shaped by my enthusiasm and humor, along with a deep passion for helping others succeed - and, of course, pursue ALL their passions! My long-term hobbies include quilting and reading, but I've also dabbled in gardening (dismal failure), cooking (some of it is actually edible!), dollhouse miniatures (definitely go back to that one day), clothing design (don't even ask!), and various other brief pursuits.

Tammy: I just had to write you a quick thank you note for talking to our group about procrastination. Your presentation was so much fun!!! The entire group couldn't stop talking about it. Your presentation style made the group feel safe to explore a topic that could otherwise bring shame and guilt. I was surprised how much group interaction there was, especially considering how well the presentation was organized. There was so much useful information. I will be using the things I learned from this presentation for years to come. Again, I just can't get over how much fun you made learning!!! Great job.
