Tammy Cook, Renaissance Mind Extraordinaire

Are you a Renaissance Mind?

  • Do you find yourself flitting from one thing to another, leaving a growing pile of incompletes in your wake?
  • Have you elevated procrastination to an art form?
  • Do you prefer to have several projects in progress simultaneously, as opposed to starting one and finishing it before starting the next?
  • Do you consider focus "the f-word," and avoid it at all costs because of the limits imposed by focusing on one thing at a time?
  • Are you a jack-of-all-trades?
  • Have you ever felt that you're wired differently from most of the population?
  • Do you thrive on starting new projects... but lose steam before completing them?

If you answered yes to all or most of these questions, then CONGRATULATIONS - you are hereby unofficially declared to be a Renaissance Mind!

As an individual with many diverse interests and talents, you have many struggles that straight-laced linear thinkers cannot comprehend. You probably struggle with time management, but at a completely different level than 80% of the population. You can (usually!) manage the basics - your challenge is squeezing in the many extracurricular hobbies or interests you have along with your standard responsibilities!

And focus - the f-word! Do you consider multi-tasking the elixir of life? Can you write a report while listening to the radio, and chewing gum? Sure, it's a great skill to have - but how many half-finished, abandoned projects are surrounding you right now, collecting dust and draining your passion and energy?

What about organization? How about a scavenger hunt... Within the next 5 minutes, could you find a pen, your insurance policy number, your birth certificate (and those of all family members), tax returns for the past 3 years, a rubber band, a band-aid, and all of your Christmas decorations?

Everyone is born a genius, but the process of living de-geniuses them.
— R. Buckminster Fuller

This is the place that will help you begin to develop your skills in all these areas! Every month, new tips, checklists, or ideas will be added to show you how to focus your genius.
